Síminn operates the largest mobile phone services network in Iceland for GSM, 3G and NMT mobiles. Our network is a strength which has had the result that the most satisfied customers on the mobile phone market are the customers of Síminn, according to a survey performed by Gallup, the Icelandic Satisfaction Poll.

Síminn is a market leader in services for both urban and rural areas in Iceland. No other telephone company in Iceland offers a more extensive and secure mobile network.

Continuous development

Síminn’s GSM network is the densest and largest in Iceland and is under continuous development. The GSM transmitters of Síminn are based on a long-range GSM system. Work will continue on the addition of long-range transmitters this year, and over the next few years, to ensure that we continue to have the largest network.

NMT network

Seafarers are always safest on the Síminn NMT network. The network reaches further than any other mobile network.

3G network

Síminn’s 3G network is the largest of its kind in Iceland and is under continuous development. The network was launched last autumn and has grown considerably. Síminn intends to base its long-range mobile telephone network on 3G technology while building up its long-range GSM network at the same time.
